Job: Mechanic
How you got started riding: I've always had a bike since I was a kid. I started getting really into riding with the early 2000's fixed gear craze. The first time I rode a 20 mile commute in Phoenix, Az I was hooked for life. After moving to Portland I learned the amazing ways of gravel from friends at a shop called Velo Cult. I didn't own a car for a decade, which felt pretty rad. Since then I've used bikes as a primary form of transportation and fun.
Typical ride: Point in some direction and explore.
Riding goal: Point in different directions and explore more.
Favorite food: Biryani with Mirchi Ka Salan and Raita, although Paul might say my favorite food is gas station burritos.
Favorite book: Fiction- Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, In Persuasion Nation by George Saunders. Non-Fiction- On Food And Cooking by Harold McGee, Cooking By Hand by Paul Bertolli
Favorite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Extra Tidbits:I've lived in 10 different cities as an adult, but I'm in Iowa City to stay. I love computer nerd stuff, playing instruments, and just generally tinkering with anything. I hope for better designed cities with a focus on people rather than cars. I'm currently working an internship with the City of Iowa City as well as WoB. Also my dog is pretty rad.
