We are the Gravel Scouts. A crew dedicated to finding the best adventures that Iowa can offer on a bicycle. The Scouts are an all-inclusive, freaking-fun group of people. Every level of rider is welcome. The adventures we embark on will challenge you, help you grow as a cyclist, and build a positive crew energy.
The Scouts want to maximize the Mid-West. We are continually searching out the best roads to ride and explore. We participate in weekly group rides, gravel/off-road cycling events, and W.O.B shop events.

IMPORTANT EXPLANATION PART: AKA FAQ
What is no-drop? NO ONE LEFT BEHIND. EVER. We will always wait for you. Even if the front of the group seems to be pulling away they will always wait. Corners and intersections are typically stopping points. This allows for any pace, ride comfortably or try to push yourself to keep up and get stronger, either way you will have someone to ride with. That someone is our sweeper, the dedicated end-of-the-ride rider. They are there to ensure the positive energy extends from front to back during rides.
What is this positive energy you speak of? Cookies? Candy? Sunshine?
Do I have to be a Gravel Scout to go on the Monday Night Gravel Ride?
No! You are all welcome.
What if I don’t have a “gravel” bike? What do I ride?
You can always bring in your bicycle for a free safety check at World of Bikes. We have rental bikes that can handle gravel. Also most any bike can ride gravel, it’s just up to you to maintain it.
What kind of trips are you talking about?
Camping! Hanging out with other bikes shops! Getting friends on bikes during event such as Gravel Curious rides!
Why should I go to events with you guys?
It’s way more fun to travel to events with people, we can support each other, and challenge each other.
How do I pick out events?
There will be registration parties to make sure everyone can sign up for what they want! Gravel event registrations go very quickly.
Can I keep up?
Heck yes, all group rides are no-drop.
What is no-drop again?
NO ONE LEFT BEHIND. EVER. We will always wait for you. Even if the front of the group seems to be pulling away they will always wait. Corners and intersections are typically stopping points. This allows for any pace, ride comfortable for you or try to push yourself to keep up and get stronger, either way you will have someone* to ride with.
